SMA - Sunny Island - Off-Grid Inverter

The SMA Sunny Island battery inverter is a real all-rounder. This battery inverter can be used for both on-grid and off-grid applications. In combination with a battery unit, the Sunny Island inverter forms a voltage network for all electrical devices and power generators. The Sunny Island takes care of all controls and processes and regulates the continuous power supply.

On-grid and off-grid

The Sunny Island can be used in different situations. As an example, the battery inverter can be connected to the public grid, or in off-grid installations in an environment without grid installations. It is suitable to support off-grid systems from 2 to 300kW. There are already more than 120,000 installations worldwide equipped with the Sunny Island inverter.

Safety in an off-grid system is guaranteed by the high protection class IP54, the wide temperature range and the very high overload capacity. Even in the most stubborn situations, optimal operation can be guaranteed thanks to energy management.

Sunny Island inverters can be used in single-phase and three-phase off-grid systems. It is possible to upgrade a system by adding the battery inverter.

Round the clock

This battery inverter is equipped with the SMA flexible storage system. Self-generated solar energy is stored and can be used 24 hours a day.

Interface

With an integrated web interface and the standard WLAN () and internet interfaces, the Sunny Island is easy to configure and/or control with a tablet or smartphone.
